ACCESS is an acronym that stands for Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators, and Students Statewide.

A little about ACCESS....

Purpose

The intent of this ACCESS (Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators, and Students Statewide) Distance Learning Plan 2006-2010, submitted in response to a charge by Governor Bob Riley, State Superintendent of Education Dr. Joseph B. Morton, and the State Board of Education, is to continue the work of the Governor's Task Force on Distance Learning. The central vision of the Alabama Distance Education Plan Task Force is to provide equal access to high quality instruction to improve student achievement through distance learning opportunities.

Vision

The State of Alabama will provide through ACCESS Distance Learning equal access to high quality instruction to improve student achievement through distance learning opportunities.

Mission

The mission of Alabama ACCESS Distance Learning is to provide an infrastructure that delivers equitable, quality learning opportunities for all high school students.

Goal

The goal of Alabama ACCESS Distance Learning is to provide equity through additional educational offerings for all Alabama public high school students.
